CHECK DATA ACCURACY

STRICT ACCESSS CONTROL TO ALL PARADE AREAS & EVENTS
  • Access to the parade areas and events is being strictly controlled.
  • Participants are required to always wear their Parade Lanyard.
  • If you do not have your lanyard, you will NOT be permitted entry into designated Parade areas or events. No exceptions will be made.
  • Service providers and volunteers will have easily identifiable wrist bands.
 
 MEDIA EXPOSURE
  •  Various media outlets (Reporters, KykNet, M-Net, TheCarPlace, CarMag, Cars.co.za) may be present at the events. 
  • The Parade media team will be photographing and filming the event and interviewing members.
  • By participating in the events, you acknowledge that ALL media may be used by any associated party for any purpose.
 

 COMMUNICATION EXPECTATIONS

  • We will be using WhatsApp as our primary communication channel.
  • You will be added to the following parade WhatsApp groups in the next few weeks.
 
  • General Announcements
    • Used by parade committee to keep all participants informed.
    • Only admins may post
 
  • Vehicle Class Announcements
    • Used for each individual vehicle class for class specific information.
    • Only admins may post
  •  
 
  • Parade General
    • Open to all Parade participants to banter and add photos and videos
    • By posting media and messages into this group, you will be agreeing to permit Porsche Club SA and Participants to use any media and messages, for any purpose.
 
  • Google Maps
    • We will be providing you with run routes and meeting points via Google Maps sent on our WhatsApp channels.
    • Please ensure that your google maps application on your mobile device is UP TO DATE
 
 EVENTS & RULES
 

 WHAT TO PACK

  • CLICK HERE for expected weather and temperature.
  • All dinners (with the exception of the awards dinner) have no specific dress code but we do ask members to please dress appropriately.
  • The awards dinner on Monday the 23rd is SMART CASUAL.
    • Gents must wear jackets with a collar shirt.
    • No sneakers/takkies or sweat pants.
    • The ladies always look lovely and seem to know how to dress appropriately.
  • For Motorsport events, participants are required to wear
    • SABS approved helmet
    • long sleeve tops
    • long pants
    • closed shoes
  • If you require assistance in transporting luggage or anything else to Cape Town, our Parade Partner Bigfoot Express has offered their services. Please email us if you need anything transported.
 

 UPON ARRIVAL

  • You will be required to park in the designated underground parking area.
    • Members transporting their vehicles to CT will have them parked securely in the underground parking area.
  • Directions to the hotel and parking area will be provided via WhatsApp.
  • Once parked, please report directly to the Parade registration area to sign in
    • The Parade registration desk will be clearly demarcated at the hotel.
    • You will sign in and sign the indemnity forms 
    • You will be provided with Parade identification lanyards
    • You will receive your Parade goodie bag (1 per room)
    • You will collect your Parade regalia (jacket and cap)
  • Check in to your room will be from 2pm.
    • The Parade registration desk will direct you to the hotel check-in desk.
  • Welcome Dinner formalities commence at 6pm precisely.
 

 CAR WASH FACILITIES

  • Vehicle cleaning equipment will be available in the underground parking area.
 

 CANCELLATIONS

  • The venues and suppliers have been paid. We are past the point of being able to entertain cancellation refunds.
  • Any cancelations from this moment onwards will result in the full parade fee paid being forfeit.
 

 PSA DRIVEPLANS, PRE-OWNED PLANS, MOTORPLANS AND INSURANCE

  • Members are responsible for their own insurance and motor plan arrangements.
  • By participating in motorsport events, Porsche Club SA cannot be held liable in any way, for any losses suffered related to insurance and motor plans.
  • Porsche South Africa’s position on the Parade participants whose Porsche’s are still covered by Porsche South Africa’s Drive Plan (DP) and Pre-Owned Plan (POP) are as follows,
    • DP and POP covered cars will not be allowed to participate in any timed events at the Parade, except for the “ Speedburst” event where the cars are timed at 400 and 800 meter markers.
    • Drive Plan and Pre-Owned Plan covered Porsche’s are not allowed to participate in timed events such as “The Bigfoot Time attack” and “Safari Projek Gymkhana”, or any timed events other than the Speed timed runs over 400 and 800 meters. DP and
    • POP Porsches with manual clutches are required to start in a “curved cone lane”  in order to protect the clutches from the direct impact of a straight-line start.
    • Should any of participants whose cars are covered by the DP and POP join in the timed events as described above their respective DP’s and POP’s will be cancelled irrespective.
 

 PLEASE TAKE NOTE

  • There are no additional rooms available.
    • Please do not take a chance by bringing additional people with you that are not already confirmed.
  • The City of Cape Town takes road traffic laws very seriously.
    • Front and back number plates must be displayed on vehicles when driving on Cape Town roads.
    • The City of Cape Town adopts a no-nonsense policy in this regard.
    • Fines and/or vehicle impoundment can be expected for any member caught without their number plates or transgressions of road traffic laws.
