SafariProjek was dreamed up by Johan de Bruyn and Phillip Visser during lockdown in 2020. A perfect storm was created by lots of available time, Porsches in the garage and the blood of a rally driver and race car builder running hot! After a lot of research, the team started modifying the first SafariProjek car – a 2003 3.6-litre Porsche 996 Carrera 4S. Thinking that they would be able to buy most of the parts off the shelf, they were surprised to learn that there simply weren’t many options available. This didn’t stop them though and sparked an intensive period of research and development.
